The Gold Cup Classic & Performance Car & Motorcycle Auction

  Lot 34

1978 Honda CD185 Benly

Registration - GTU 898T

Chassis No. - CD185T-2074029

M.O.T. - Exempt

Odometer - 18,637

The Benly on offer is an August 1978 model that has remained in the vendor’s care since July 2021. He describes it as ‘a tidy little bike that runs and rides well and features good paint, chrome, tyres and brakes’. In summary he rates the four-speed gearbox as ‘excellent’ and the twin-cylinder engine, frame, suspension, brightwork, paintwork and cycle parts as ‘good’. Always garaged and little used during his tenure, it has recently been treated to a fresh battery and pair of spark plugs, plus an oil change. The roots of the user-friendly Benly can be traced right back to the Sloper of 1967. They made perfect entry level/learner bikes and were, and still are, ideal for commuting – superior to both the Yamaha RS200 and Suzuki SB200.

'A Buyer’s Premium applies to the Hammer Price of this Lot if your bid is successful, as per the following;  Motor Cars 12.5% + VAT (minimum £150 + VAT), Motorcycles and Bicycles 15% + VAT (minimum £100 + VAT); Registration Numbers 15% + VAT (minimum £50 + VAT); Automobilia 15% + VAT (minimum of £5 + VAT).'

Potential buyers should satisfy themselves with the description and condition of each lot prior to sale. Each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ as per the terms and conditions for the auction, buyers are asked to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out the service. Any disputes over descriptions will not be entertained.
