Offered at No Reserve, this 2006 Mercedes-Benz SLK 200 Kompressor features a supercharged 2.0-litre engine paired with an automatic gearbox. The vendor says it “looks and drives well,” with the trademark folding hard-top roof problem-free. It has a partial service history, and was most recently serviced in January 2025, when it was also given a fresh MOT.
‘KX05AFU’ has also had a considerable amount of work done on it. This includes a new subframe – fitted by Mercedes-Benz – new brake discs and pads, new brake wear leads, new inboard shoes and a fresh handbrake cable. This further enhances a condition that the vendor describes as ‘good’ overall. The odometer reads 121,000 miles and the vendor adds that a condition alert received in September 2024 didn’t come with a category marker. Following its renewal, which involved a “massive” amount of work, it now “runs perfectly”.
The Mercedes-Benz SLK was released in 1996 as a stylish compact roadster with an ingenious folding hard-top roof. The original R170 was designed under the famed Bruno Sacco, as a modern tribute to the 1950s Mercedes-Benz 190SL, and soon developed a cult following. Its successor, the R171, was launched in 2004, featuring a comprehensive round of improvements that improved the car’s torsional rigidity and aerodynamics. The roof operated more quickly, and an optimised design meant it took up less boot space. This car is an R171 version, featuring the torquey and efficient supercharged 2.0-litre engine.
