Finished in red and now presenting as a highly desirable restoration project, this Giulietta Sprint offers an increasingly rare opportunity to acquire one of Alfa Romeo’s most elegant and collectible post-war designs in project form.
Stored for many years, the car is described as a barn-find example and represents a partly completed restoration. The bodywork shows the expected signs of long-term storage and previous work, requiring recommissioning and further restoration to bring it back to its former glory. It is reported to be largely complete, with only a small number of items missing. Importantly, the original engine and gearbox are included in the sale, with the gearbox currently removed and stored within the vehicle. Accompanying the car are two original seats, along with a substantial amount of trim including bumpers, front grilles, window and gutter trim. In addition, a good pair of rear lights and a spare boot lid are supplied. The door glass is noted as missing. Paperwork includes a letter from the Alfa Romeo Owners Club confirming a date of manufacture of 22nd September 1959 and despatch on 29th September to Byfleet, Surrey, together with a NOVA certificate. The first recorded colour is confirmed as red. UK registration will be required.
Launched in the 1950s, the Giulietta Sprint was styled by Bertone and is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful compact coupés of its era. Combining delicate proportions with Alfa Romeo’s advanced engineering, it helped define the brand’s sporting image and remains a favourite among collectors today, with restored examples commanding strong interest.

VIEWING

If you are unable to attend the auction in person, Hampson Auctions can offer condition reports via photographs and, dependent on technology/connection available, remote viewing via live video call.

BIDDING
If attending the event, please make yourself known to the auctioneer when you wish to bid on a lot, either by a wave or vocally if they haven’t seen you. Once an auctioneer has taken a bid from you, they will always come back to you if you have been outbid.

PAYMENTS
Payment for lots is required by 1pm the day following the auction and can be made by any form of cleared funds. Should payment not be received by then, any lot(s) will be taken into storage at the Buyer's expense.
COLLECTION
Removal of lots can take place once the auction has finished and up until 1pm on the following day. If you are unable to collect yourself, please speak with one of our team should you wish put in contact with our transport / storage partners site at the auction.

The Hampson Auction name is rooted in our heritage, first used at our Winsford headquarters in the 1980s, now returned in a modern format.
Extended viewing will be available for five days prior to the auction, with the sale conducted live at 12 noon on Sunday 26th April 2026.
Buyers benefit from seven days complimentary storage following the sale, allowing collection without immediate time pressure.
