The Gold Cup Classic & Performance Car & Motorcycle Auction

  Lot 36

2001 Rover 45 Impression S
**NO RESERVE** Only 38,000 miles from new

Registration - Y735 KFM

Chassis No. - SARRTMWME2D554073

M.O.T. - July 2024

Odometer - 38,937

Twenty-two-year old saloons don’t come much smarter than this one-owner, 38,937-mile example that hales from a deceased estate. The vendor informs us that the Rover has ‘always been garaged and rarely used in the wet, and not only still feels but smells like a new car’! Its sparkling silver paintwork is teamed with black cloth interior upholstery that’s complemented by wood trim for the facia, while the car rides on apparently unmarked period-correct nine-spoke alloy wheels shod with Dunlop tyres. In summary the vendor categorises the 109bhp 1.6-litre DOHC K-Series engine, five-speed manual gearbox, four-door saloon bodywork and paintwork as ‘excellent, and the interior trim as ‘good’. This fine specimen is now available for sale at No Reserve complete with: factory-fitted radio/CD; a spare wheel that has clearly never been used (the pimples are still on the tyre!); tools that are still in the blister pack in which they were supplied; the original bill of sale, option list and sales brochure; handbooks; a pair of keys with alarm controls and their original Rover key fobs; large history file; and a full service history, plus a current MOT certificate valid for 12 months.

The Rover 45 came into being in 1999 and remained in production until the company’s demise in 2005. It was effectively a facelift of the 400 model that was repositioned and priced specifically to compete with the Ford Focus and Vauxhall Astra, and offered with petrol engines of 1.4, 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0-litres capacity and a diesel unit of 2.0-litres. As an alternative to the standard five-speed manual gearbox, the newcomer could be specified with a ZF Sachs continuously variable automatic system. There were just two body options – four-door saloon and five-door hatchback.

In summary:

  • An immaculate one-owner example
  • Just 38,937 miles from new backed by a full service history
  • Being sold at No Reserve
