The Gold Cup Classic Car Auction

  Lot 37

Lot 37 - 1963 Honda C100

1963 Honda C100

M.O.T. - Exempt

Odometer - 7,077

One of the countless side-effects of COVID-19 is the increase in motorcycle ownership, and in particular that of commuter bikes, of which the C100, aka Honda Cub, remains the king. This example that matches a black frame to the familiar white fairing has been imported from the USA, and comes complete with NOVA certificate via which to achieve a UK registration. The vendor presently classes the frame, paintwork, trim, 49cc four-stroke engine and three-speed semi-automatic transmission as all being in ‘good’ order, and adds that its ‘a good runner and is devoid of rot’. The total indicated mileage is a wholly credible 7,077. A thoroughly usable machine that will arguably only increase in value. In continuous production from 1958 to this day, the C100 and its siblings are quite simply the most produced motor vehicle in history, of which well over 100 million have been made to date – a number Honda’s rivals can only dream of.

'A Buyer’s Premium applies to the Hammer Price of this Lot if your bid is successful, as per the following;  Motor Cars 12.5% + VAT (minimum £150 + VAT), Motorcycles and Bicycles 15% + VAT (minimum £100 + VAT); Registration Numbers 15% + VAT (minimum £50 + VAT); Automobilia 15% + VAT (minimum of £5 + VAT).'

Potential buyers should satisfy themselves with the description and condition of each lot prior to sale. Each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ as per the terms and conditions for the auction, buyers are asked to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out the service. Any disputes over descriptions will not be entertained.

Sold for £2,375

(Inclusive of Buyer's Premium)
