‘AKZ 4100’ first resided on the island of Guernsey, returning to the mainland in 2001. Since then it has enjoyed a significant level of love, money and professional maintenance lavished upon it, including the replacement of the gearbox and torque convertor. Moreover, many of the steel body panels have been replaced, including the wings and wheel arches. The vendor informs us that there is currently no corrosion, and he classes the bodywork, turbo V8 engine and automatic transmission as ‘excellent’ and the metallic silver paintwork and red-piped grey leather interior trim as ‘good’. Evidently the door cappings are new and the rest of the woodwork in good condition and free of peeling lacquer. The red carpets are also new and complemented by the car’s original lambswool over rugs.
The vendor considers the alloy wheels to be in good condition and the tyres to be the correct ones for the car, while the Red Label badges are all present and correct and in good order. In summary he says the Bentley ‘starts and drives as it should, with plenty of luxury and power and he believes it would be difficult to find one in better condition’. It has been owned by the same family for 20 years, who have used it for extensive tours of Europe – the indicated total mileage currently stands at 149,000. This fine-looking Turbo R has recently been professionally valeted at a cost of £100, and is now offered for sale complete with an extensive history file that includes its original buff Guernsey log book and selection of old MOTs, plus a current one valid until February 4 next year.
