The Bolesworth Castle November 2023 Classic & Performance Car Auction

  Lot 37

2013 Aston Martin Vantage S SP10
Warranted 15,600 miles from new

Registration - W5 SUL (Please see description)

Chassis No - SCFEABDL2DGC17828

M.O.T. - October 2024

Odometer - 15,600

This desirable and rare SP10 version of Aston Martin’s very successful Vantage S model is currently displaying a total of just 15,622 miles, a figure that is fully supported by its MOT record and full service history courtesy of main dealers Stratstone and Aston Martin Wilmslow. The car is finished in the prescribed limited-edition livery of Ceramic Grey, trimmed in black hide and Alcantara, and rides on the special SP10 alloy wheels shod with Bridgestone Potenza tyres. The Aston’s current keeper of two years presently considers the V8 engine, six-speed manual transmission, coupe bodywork, paintwork and upholstery to all be in ‘excellent’ order. It is now offered for sale complete with the aforementioned service book, handbook and a very recent advisory-free MOT valid to October 7, 2024. NB The pictured registration ‘W5 SUL’ will be going on retention and is not included in the sale.

The Vantage moniker was originally associated with Aston Martin’s top performing cars, but for the newcomer of 2005 it related more to the leanness and agility that the company hoped would allow it to compete with the likes of Porsche’s evergreen 911, as well as the British firm’s more traditional rivals. The approach worked, with the new Vantage quickly becoming Aston Martin’s most successful model. During 13 years of development it was offered in both coupe and roadster guises, with V8 and V12 engines, and in what amounted to no less than 24 versions. The Vantage S that came to market in 2011 was a high-performance variant, for which the standard V8 engine was uprated to give 430bhp, lowering the 0-60mph time to 4.5 seconds and raising the top speed to c.190mph. Related changes included stiffer suspension, a quicker steering rack, and the aero package being revised to include a deeper front bumper with carbon splitter, deeper sills, a carbon diffuser and enlarged tailgate lip. Two years later the company announced a special version of the S in celebration of its success in the Nürburgring 24-Hour race. Dubbed the SP10, it boasted: six-speed manual transmission as standard; special Ceramic Grey paintwork; 19-inch gloss black cast aluminium wheels with V-shaped spokes; black brake calipers and unique carbon front splitter and rear diffuser. It was intended as a limited edition but, due to its popularity, production ultimately ran over two years, resulting in 384 examples.

In summary:

  • One of possibly only 39 SP10 versions currently in the UK
  • A very smartly presented four-owner, 15,622-mile example
  • Comes with full service history and an MOT into October 2024
