The vendor inherited this seemingly very original 98cc old timer from his late father. He informs us that it was renovated around 30 years ago, but has been started infrequently since, so will need some general recommissioning before returning to the roads, along with some specific attention to the clutch plates. The lot includes a history file containing ‘Operating Instructions for The Villiers Engine Unit’, ‘Hints and Tips on Excelsior Motor Cycles’, a copy of a letter from the VMCC agreeing the bike could be re-registered under its original number, a copy of the original buff log book, a selection of photos, some spare tank decals, and a 1960 tax disc. The Excelsior is being sold at No Reserve.
'A Buyer’s Premium applies to the Hammer Price of this Lot if your bid is successful, as per the following; Motor Cars 12.5% + VAT (minimum £150 + VAT), Motorcycles and Bicycles 15% + VAT (minimum £100 + VAT); Registration Numbers 15% + VAT (minimum £50 + VAT); Automobilia 15% + VAT (minimum of £5 + VAT).'

Our May auction of classic, modern classic and prestige cars and motorbikes will take place at Mavericks in Holywell, North Wales (half an hour’s drive from Chester).
There will be free parking for auction attendees.
