The Gold Cup Classic Car Auction

  Lot 4

1987 Land Rover 110 County
*** NO RESERVE *** Has been subject to a comprehensive rebuild

Registration - E701 WSB

Chassis No. - SALLDHAB7BA312643

M.O.T. - December 2022

Odometer - 48,000

As has been proven many times, there are few terrains that a fully-equipped Land Rover cannot conquer, and if the extraordinary (far too long to mention in full here) specification of this five-owner long wheelbase County is anything to go by, it should be able venture just about anywhere. The 300 TDi powerplant was rebuilt in 2012/2013 and boasts a performance head, uprated Alisport alloy radiator and intercooler and hybrid turbo. It drives through a Discovery transfer box and on to axles (Salisbury at the rear) that were both rebuilt within the same timeframe. Braking is by drilled and grooved discs front and rear. The Landie’s bulkhead was replaced in 2004, the chassis renewed in 2010 and the underside of the vehicle Waxoyled in 2012/2013. The front doors were replaced in 2012 and the rear ones in 2021. The vehicles numerous body/interior upgrades include: Wolf steel wheels with 285/85R16 General Grabber AT2 tyres; large capacity main fuel tank and additional side tank; swing-away spare wheel carrier; full length galvanised roof rack with rear ladder and weldmesh floor; chequer-plate protectors for wings and bonnet; NATO hitch; HD winch bumper with custom A-frame; Safari snorkel and deep wading kit; MUD-UK snow cowl; HD tree sliders; Britpart demister kit; Puma front seats; Escape Gear seat covers; Noisekiller lead sandwich on bulkhead etc etc.

Following a rewire in 2012 the Defender’s equally impressive array of electrical equipment includes: a Goodwinch TDS 12.0 winch with 90’ Dyneema bowrope; heated front and rears screens and large wing mirrors; cruise control; 13-pin trailer socket; concealed main battery isolation switch; National Lunar split charging system; twin Optima batteries; Webasto HotShot windscreen wash heater; Hella duel air horns etc etc. To replicate this vehicle from scratch would clearly be a massively expensive exercise, so to be able to bid for it at No Reserve is surely a very attractive option.

In summary:

  • A five-owner example with amazing specification
  • Treated to a full rebuild in 2012/2013
  • 48,000 miles covered since the rebuild
