1993 Porsche 968
Track-focused Club Sport recreation, benefitting from specialist care and complete with original book pack

Registration – K900 GDL

Chassis No. – WP0ZZZ96ZNS802312

M.O.T. – April 2026

Odometer – 168,126

This 1993 Porsche 968 is an immaculate example of the firm’s desirable transaxle sports car. It is a ‘Club Sport recreation’, where a regular 968 has been given the distinctive, track-focused Club Sport appearance, without losing the refinements of the regular car. It has been well cherished and has had just four former keepers – well below the average for a car of this age. The 3.0-litre four-cylinder engine is paired with the highly desirable six-speed manual transmission. The vendor says they have spent over £9,500 on it, and the history file includes 16 service stamps from Porsche in the original maintenance manual. There are bills totalling over £30,000 in the comprehensive history file. Recent work includes new brake discs and pads, cam belt, Mobil 1 engine oil and gearbox oil change at Iain Tyrells, along with a new heater control panel. ‘K900GDL’ also has all its original handbooks. The odometer reads 168,126 miles.

The Guards Red paintwork is said to be not scratched or marked, with both it and the bodywork in ‘excellent’ condition. The vendor says they had it ceramic coated when they purchased it. ‘K900GDL’ is fitted with Recaro Pole Position seats, the same as in the 968 Club Sport. They are hardly used and in amazing condition, reports the vendor. There’s a Club Sport-spec steering wheel too, an expensive addition “which is like brand new”. There’s a “pristine” half roll cage in the rear, and it has the rear seat delete option. Overall, the interior is said to be in ‘excellent’ condition – and ‘K900GDL’ is described as being “mint” overall by the vendor.

The Porsche 968 was unveiled in 1991 and sold from 1992 in the UK as an extensive evolution of the 944, which itself was derived from the earlier 924. It used an upgraded 3.0-litre engine which was fitted with variable valve timing – but the biggest news was an extensive styling update, with only the doors, roof and tailgate being carried over from the 944. Pop-up headlights remained, but the round units were now similar to those on the range-topping Porsche 928. Later, a lightweight Club Sport version arrived, which became an instant legend. Overall, Porsche reckoned 80% of the 968 was new compared to the 944, and today it is an increasingly collectable front-engined Porsche sports car.

In summary:

  • Immaculate, cherished 1993 Porsche 968 ‘Club Sport recreation’
  • Extensive service history includes bills totalling more than £30,000
  • Fitted with desirable 968 Club Sport seats and steering wheel
