The Gold Cup Classic Car Auction

  Lot 40

1961 Royal Enfield Bullet 350

Registration - 273 XUA

Chassis No. - 47944

M.O.T. - Exempt

Odometer - 54,197

Originally an RAC patrol bike, ‘273 XUA’ remains in the colours of that famous breakdown and recovery organisation to this day. It is still running on its original wheel rims too, which the odometer confirms have travelled a total of 54,197 miles to date. A Redditch-built example, it has had a total of four owners to date, the previous one of which retained it as part of a collection for no less than 13 years. In deference to its original role in life, its specification includes a capacious wrap-around pannier, an all-enveloping fairing and screen, and mudguard-mounted auxiliary light. We are assured the Enfield ‘runs well’ and see its future as anything from show queen to transport for a mobile mechanic. The famous Bullet name has proudly adorned the tanks of Royal Enfields for some 75 years, meaning it has remained in constant production longer than any other model of motorcycle.

'A Buyer’s Premium applies to the Hammer Price of this Lot if your bid is successful, as per the following;  Motor Cars 12.5% + VAT (minimum £150 + VAT), Motorcycles and Bicycles 15% + VAT (minimum £100 + VAT); Registration Numbers 15% + VAT (minimum £50 + VAT); Automobilia 15% + VAT (minimum of £5 + VAT).'

Potential buyers should satisfy themselves with the description and condition of each lot prior to sale. Each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ as per the terms and conditions for the auction, buyers are asked to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out the service. Any disputes over descriptions will not be entertained.

Sold for £4,500

(Inclusive of Buyer's Premium)
