  Lot 41

1990 Jaguar XJS
***NO RESERVE***

Registration - H663 GSD

Chassis No. - SAJJNAEC3CA171751

M.O.T. - No

Odometer - 130,940

This elegant 1990 Jaguar XJ-S is a barn find-style rarity that’s ripe for restoration and is being offered at No Reserve. Garaged and off the road since 2018, it has had just seven previous keepers, which is much lower than average for a 34-year-old car. Originality extends to the original multi-spoke alloy wheels and Jaguar-branded rear mud flaps, while the Jaguar ‘S’ logo in the front grille is a desirable styling touch. The vendor reports it will need a respray and an MOT to get it back to its former glory, but the car runs and drives, and the car comes with its V5. ‘H663GSD’ has an odometer reading 130,000 miles, and an interior in ‘good’ condition, compete with the original barrel-style instruments and wood veneer trim. The sole modern upgrade is a useful Bluetooth-enabled stereo.

The Jaguar XJ-S was introduced in 1975 as a modern, avant-garde replacement for the iconic Jaguar E-type. It was based on the able Jaguar XJ saloon, and offered in coupe, targa and convertible bodystyles. There were three iterations, and this car is a well-balanced six-cylinder example, using the classic Jaguar 3.6-litre straight-six engine. More than 73,000 ‘HE’ series XJ-S were built in a 10-year period, easily making it the most popular series of all – and today, considered the best blend of classic looks with more modern fuel-injected convenience.

· Jaguar XJ-S that’s ripe for restoration offered at No Reserve
