Finished in metallic blue, this distinctive performance coupe represents a heavily upgraded and highly developed example of Ford’s well regarded compact sports model. First registered in 2000, the car now presents as a significantly enhanced performance build, retaining the character of the original chassis while benefitting from substantial mechanical upgrades.
At the heart of the car is a fully forged and turbocharged engine build, developed to deliver considerably increased performance over the standard specification. The engine bay displays Ford Racing branding and upgraded components, while additional instrumentation has been installed within the cabin to monitor boost and engine parameters. The interior retains the familiar driver focused layout while benefitting from modern additions including an upgraded multimedia head unit.
Further enhancements include OZ Racing alloy wheels, uprated braking components and performance modifications intended to complement the increased power output. The odometer currently reads approximately 112,000 miles and the car is offered with an MOT valid until July 2026.
Originally developed by Ford’s Special Vehicle Engineering team, the performance variant of this model quickly gained a reputation as one of the most engaging front wheel drive driver’s cars of its era. Its sharp handling and lightweight construction made it a favourite among enthusiasts, and modified examples such as this demonstrate the potential of the platform when developed further for performance.
