November 2021 Classics Auction

  Lot 43

2001 Audi TT Quattro
*** NO RESERVE ***

Registration - T5 KKR

Chassis No. - TRUZZZ8NZ11027938

M.O.T. - June 2022

Odometer - 152,595

This tidy-looking four-wheel drive TT is finished in silver that’s teamed with a black leather interior, and the car rides on period-correct multi-spoke alloy wheels. The vendor informs us that the Audi ‘runs well’ and has recently been treated to a valet. He regards the four-cylinder engine, six-speed manual transmission, bodywork, paintwork and upholstery as all being in ‘excellent’ order and is now selling the car complete with V5C and a current MOT certificate valid to June 4 next year. The odometer currently registers an unwarranted 152,595 miles from new.

The distinctively-shaped TT was penned by J Mays and Freeman Thomas and first seen in concept form at the 1995 Frankfurt Salon. Production commenced in 1998 and continues to this day, in third generation form. The TT takes its name from the incomparable TT motorcycle race in the Isle of Man that was successfully contested in period by NSU, one of the German marques that merged to create what is now known as Audi AG. The first generation car was manufactured between 1998 and 2006, initially just in coupe form but ultimately as a roadster as well. The engine options were a turbocharged 1.8-litre straight four or 3.2-litre V6. Drive was from the front or all four wheels, as per the sale car.

In summary:

  • A tidy-looking example of an increasingly collectable breed
  • Recently professionally valeted
  • Being sold at ‘No Reserve’
