November 2022 Classics Auction

  Lot 44

2013 Jaguar XF Saloon
Full service history

Registration - FT63 ZGO

Chassis No. - SAJAC0665DDU02278

M.O.T. - August 2023

Odometer - 143,594

‘FR63 ZGO’ is finished in an attractive shade of red that’s matched to cream hide interior trim, and rides on period-correct 10-spoke alloy wheels. To date, it has only had two keepers from new and its looks belie the fact that between them they’ve clocked up a total of 143,594 miles. The vendor considers the 2.2-litre diesel engine and eight-speed automatic transmission to still be in ‘excellent’ order, and classes the bodywork and upholstery as ‘good’ and the paintwork as ‘average’. The XF comes complete with a Meridian surround sound system and full service history by a mix of Jaguar and marque specialists (the last bout of maintenance took place as recently as March this year).

Penned by Jaguar’s resident head stylist Ian Callum, the XF was developed at the company’s design and development HQ at Whitley near Coventry and built in its historic (no less than 12,129 Spitfires were produced there during the war) Castle Bromwich plant and launched to the public at the 2007 Frankfurt Salon. The model was based on a heavily modified version of Ford’s DEW98 platform and offered in two guises – four-door saloon and five-door estate - and powered by a range of V6 and V8 petrol and diesel engines. As well as front and rear styling changes and internal trim enhancements, the facelift version of 2011 introduced the option of a new 2.2-litre diesel powerplant. In ultimate specification, as per the sale car, this unit produced a worthy 197bhp which, driving through an equally contemporary eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox, blessed the XF with a claimed average fuel consumption of 52.0mpg, together with a 0-60mph acceleration time of c.8.0 seconds and top speed of 140mph.

In summary:

· A tidy example that’s had just one former keeper

· Equipped with a Meridian surround sound
