May 2022 Classics Auction

  Lot 45

2005 Honda Integra Type R

Registration - NJ0 5AZD

Chassis No. - DC5-2302931

M.O.T. - December 2022

Odometer - 109,255

Resplendent in Championship White and black bonnet, this JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) Integra was first UK registered as recently as February this year. Its splendid overall condition belies the car’s recorded mileage of 109,255, and the vendor currently classes the lusty i-VTEC engine, six-speed manual transmission, bodywork, paintwork and red/black interior trim as all being in ‘excellent’ condition. This desirable rice rocket comes complete with Brembo brake calipers, Largus coilover suspension, Recaro seats, folding mirrors, Mugen gearknob, Momo suede-rimmed steering wheel, privacy glass, a degree of Japanese service history and book packs, plus a current MOT valid into December. A rare opportunity.

Widely regarded as one of the best handling frontwheel drive cars of all time, the Integra is effectively a sporting version of the ubiquitous Civic. The first generation made its debut in 1985 and was followed fairly swiftly by a further three iterations before being withdrawn from the market in 2006. However, after a 15-year hiatus, the name reappeared in 2021 and it is still possible to buy a version of that same car today in certain markets around the world. The fourth generation model (as per the sale car) was produced from July 2001 to August 2006 and sold as a Honda in its home market but as an Acura throughout North America. At its heart was Honda’s 2.0-litre K20 engine that came with more hi-tech engineering than you could shake a stick at, revved willingly to a redline of 8,400rpm, and (in JDM guise) produced a very healthy 220bhp – 60mph was readily attainable in around 6.0 seconds.

In summary:

  • A very well presented example of a model rarely seen on UK roads
  • Imported from Japan as recently as February this year
  • Comes with some history and a number of upgrades
