An Auction of Classic and Performance Cars and Motorcycles

  Lot 46

1999 Ford Fiesta Zetec 1.25 LX
Only 9000 miles from new *** NO RESERVE ***

Registration - V174 FRJ

Chassis No. - WF0AXXBAJAXS30150

M.O.T. - September 2023

Odometer - 9,600

Looking for all the world as though it has just vacated the Ford production line, this almost as-new Fiesta has had just three private owners who’ve accumulated a mere 9,600 miles between them over 24 years. It was supplied new in late 1999 by Quicks of Northwich to a Knutsford-based lady who used it to transport her dog for walks in Tatton Park. She retained the Ford until 2016, at which point it passed to the mechanic that had serviced it to date. It then remained in his care until last year when it passed, via a motor trader, to the vendor. When you study the photos, it is no surprise that he presently considers the 1242cc engine, five-speed manual gearbox, five-door bodywork, Radiant Red paintwork and grey fabric upholstery to all be in ‘excellent’ condition, and adds that the Ford ‘drivers like new and is in very good original order – even the air conditioning works very well’. The Fiesta is now offered complete with factory-fitted radio/cassette, electric front windows, full service history and virtually every old MOT, plus a current one valid to September 2. A rare opportunity.

Now in its seventh generation, Ford’s incredibly successful Fiesta is due to be discontinued in June this year, much to the disappointment of its legions of fans. No less than 22 million have been sold during the model’s astonishing 47-year reign, 4.8 million of which found homes in the UK, where it was the top selling model for 12 consecutive years (2009-2020) and the country’s best-selling car of all time. The fourth generation model, as per the sale car, was in production from 1995 to 2002. It was during this golden period that the new range of Zetec-S petrol engines was introduced, with the option of 1.25 or 1.4-litre capacity. There was the choice of three different passenger configurations – three and five-door hatchback, four-door saloon and van – plus a wide range of trim levels.

In summary:

  • Just 9,600 miles and three private owners from new
  • In apparently immaculate condition inside and out
  • Comes complete with full service history and current MOT
