1939 Rover 12 Special
***NO RESERVE***

Registration – EHP 159

Chassis No. – 913377

M.O.T. – Exempt

Odometer – 40,000

Constructed over a number of years and finished to a wonderfully individual specification, this 1939 Rover 12 Special is the result of extensive work by a highly skilled engineer, using a Rover 12 (P2) as its basis and incorporating a fascinating selection of period and classic components to create a true driver’s car. The open bodywork and purposeful stance are complemented by Brooklands aero screens, giving it a distinctive pre war competition look and ensuring it draws attention wherever it goes.

The vendor informs us the car utilises many genuine Rover components, together with carefully selected parts from other classic marques, including Bugatti indicators and a Bentley exhaust, the latter lending an evocative note in keeping with its vintage style. Power is said to come from an engine believed to have covered a genuine 40,000 miles from new, supported by accompanying history, and matched to a Rover freewheel four speed gearbox, featuring a non synchromesh first rolling gear.

Further features include rod operated brakes, meaning no brake pipes to worry about, and the vendor reports the car to be free of rust. It is also road tax, ULEZ and MOT exempt, and we are advised it runs beautifully and is great fun to drive. Having been enjoyed for the past two summers, it is now offered only due to an impending house move. The vendor also notes they had begun making a tonneau cover, and the associated materials will be included within the sale.
