The Gold Cup – Classic, Performance & Supercar Auction

Lot 55

2002 Jaguar XK8 Convertible
***NO RESERVE*** Much-cherished example with service history and timeless colour combination

Registration – S518 BNT

Chassis No. – SABTVR03662092149

M.O.T. – June 2027

Odometer – 69,565

Few cars capture the spirit of the traditional British grand tourer quite as successfully as the Jaguar XK8. Introduced in the 1990s as the long-awaited successor to the XJS, its flowing lines deliberately recalled some of Jaguar's greatest designs while bringing the marque's sporting grand tourer firmly into the modern era.

‘S518 BNT’ is a particularly attractive convertible example, finished in a rich metallic blue complemented beautifully by its light leather interior. The vendor informs us that the Jaguar has been a much-cherished car, and its overall presentation certainly reflects the care it has received.

Showing 69,565 miles, the XK8 is accompanied by service history and benefits from an MOT extending until June 2027, making this an appealing proposition for somebody looking to enjoy one of Jaguar's most elegant modern classics.

The exterior remains one of the great strengths of the XK8. Its long bonnet, low waistline and beautifully proportioned rear haunches give the car an unmistakable Jaguar presence. With the hood lowered, as photographed here, the combination of metallic blue paintwork and light upholstery is particularly effective and gives the car exactly the sophisticated appearance expected of a sporting Jaguar.

The cabin is equally inviting. Light leather covers the sculpted seats, complemented by extensive wood veneer across the dashboard and a wood-and-leather steering wheel. The photographs show a cabin that retains its unmistakably Jaguar character, combining traditional materials with the comfort and equipment expected from the marque's flagship sporting model.

Beneath the bonnet sits Jaguar's smooth V8 engine, coupled to an automatic transmission. The XK8 was conceived as a genuine grand tourer rather than an uncompromising sports car, providing effortless performance, refinement and long-distance ability while still delivering the sense of occasion associated with a V8-powered convertible.

These early XK8s are increasingly appreciated as modern classics. Their elegant styling has aged remarkably well, while the combination of V8 power, a beautifully appointed cabin and open-top motoring offers a considerable amount of car for the money.

With a sensible recorded mileage, service history, an MOT through to June 2027 and a particularly attractive colour combination, ‘S518 BNT’ presents as a much-cherished example of Jaguar's elegant V8 grand tourer.

Offered with NO RESERVE, this handsome XK8 Convertible represents an enticing opportunity to acquire an increasingly collectable modern Jaguar and enjoy one of Britain's great open-top grand tourers.

  • Much-cherished XK8 showing a sensible 69,565 miles
  • Attractive blue coachwork complemented by a light leather interior
  • Accompanied by service history and offered with NO RESERVE
