Registered in 1971, this Austin Mini is presented in striking metallic blue with bespoke interior trim and has undergone an extensive, no-expense-spared professional build. The vendor informs us the cost of the project was in the region of £60,000, carried out by an ex-Mini factory engine designer. At its heart lies a brand-new A-Series Plus 1380cc engine, producing a remarkable 250bhp via a single SU carburettor. The specification includes titanium exhaust valves within a Metro Turbo cylinder head, titanium push rods, 1.3 roller rockers with double valve springs, and an Imrisher 286 camshaft. The engine is further enhanced with MED pistons, conrods, and bearings, all topped with a fresh head gasket, pistons, and rings.
The gearbox is equally impressive, featuring a limited-slip differential, full race clutch, and Metro Turbo brakes to harness the performance. The build has been completed as a full nut-and-bolt restoration, ensuring that every detail has been carefully executed. The interior boasts quilted tan leather seats and trim, while externally the car wears carbon-fibre arch extensions, wide wheels, and additional spot lamps, creating a purposeful appearance. With an odometer reading of just 150 miles since completion, this Mini is effectively as fresh as the day it was finished.
The classic Mini remains one of the most recognisable and celebrated British cars ever made. This example, with its competition-inspired specification and expert engineering, offers the character of the original icon with performance capable of humbling far larger machinery.
