1987 Ford Sierra Estate Car

Registration - E26 BKL

Chassis No. - WF0NXXGBBNHU15240

M.O.T. - June 2022

Odometer - 95,636

This rare two-lady owner estate car has apparently been garaged for most of its life. Its red bodywork is paired with a grey cloth interior and the Ford rides on previously unused alloy wheels from 1988. The vendor informs us that it ‘is lovely to drive and gets looks wherever it goes’. It has apparently never required any welding and he presently views the 1600cc engine and five–speed manual gearbox as ‘excellent’ and the bodywork, paintwork and interior trim as ‘good’. Indeed, the only faults he’s aware of are ‘a couple of minor scabby bits on the body and a small tear in the back seat’. Evidently this potentially very useful classic benefits from: a new cam belt, radiator, water pump, front and rear brakes and exhaust system; a recent service; and an electric fan conversion. The Sierra is now being sold complete with the old radiator and fan. A rare opportunity.

Released in the September of 1982, the Ford Sierra was a replacement for the ubiquitous Cortina and its German sibling, the Taunus. The aerodynamic styling was arguably ahead of its time and caused initial controversy – one eminent UK journalist nicknaming it the ‘jelly mould’. Ford had the last laugh, however, with sales eventually reaching 1,299,993 units over the 11 years of production; making it Britain’s 10th most popular car up to that time.

In summary:

  • Rare estate variant
