  Lot 58

1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Coupe
For Restoration

Chassis No. - 136371L160020

M.O.T. - No

This Chevelle was recently imported from the car friendly state of California – evidently all taxes and duties have been paid and the Chevy comes with a NOVA certificate. Little is known about the car, which is minus engine and gearbox but accompanied by a selection of extra parts, as well as an SS dashboard and example of Chevy’s famous cowl induction bonnet. It apparently features drum brakes and a 10-bolt rear end. The vendor informs us that the coupe has ‘clean original floors, but that there is a small amount of corrosion in the lower wings’. An interesting and potentially rewarding restoration project.

The Chevelle was a mid-sized motorcar of which three generations were manufactured between 1964 and 1977. It proved to be one of Chevrolet’s most successful models and could be purchased in coupe, saloon, convertible and estate car guises. As one would expect of such a General Motors product, it came with a myriad of trim and performance options.

In summary:

  • A rare restoration opportunity
  • Appears to be largely complete apart from engine and gearbox
  • Some extra parts are included

Location of Vehicle - Iver, Buckinghamshire
