The second-generation Range Rover, better known to enthusiasts by its P38 designation, is increasingly finding its place among collectable modern Land Rovers. Retaining the commanding driving position and genuine off-road capability of its predecessor, the P38 introduced considerably greater refinement, comfort and technology to the Range Rover formula.

A late entry to the sale, ‘P500 PRD’ is a 1998 Range Rover 2.5 DSE offered directly from long-term ownership and presenting as an interesting project for the Land Rover enthusiast.

Powered by the familiar 2.5-litre six-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, the Range Rover is running but has been standing for a period of time and will require recommissioning before returning to regular road use. It is currently without an MOT and shows 185,592 miles.

The P38 has developed a particularly enthusiastic following in recent years, with good examples increasingly appreciated for their combination of traditional Range Rover character and distinctly 1990s luxury.
