This splendid-looking four-owner Arnage has accrued just 38,972 miles in its 18 years on the road. Its silver bodywork is complemented by: cream hide upholstery; stunning veneer trim to the facia, centre console and door caps; and blue carpeting. Its comprehensive specification includes a fridge in the rest seat arm rest, a remote control for the audio system, and twin boot-mounted Bentley umbrellas. The vendor considers the V8 engine and automatic transmission to be in ‘excellent’ condition, and the bodywork, paintwork and upholstery to all be in ‘good’ order. He is now offering the Arnage complete with its original tool and first aid kit, stamped service book (nine Bentley and one marque specialist), and a current MOT valid for 12 months.
The Bentley Arnage was phased in during the spring of 1998 as a replacement for derivatives of the long-serving Mulsanne. The Red Label version gave way to the Arnage R in 2002. In common with the long wheelbase RL launched the previous year, it was powered by a completely reworked version of Bentley’s venerable 6.75-litre V8 engine. Courtesy of Bosch Motronic engine management and a pair of Garrett T3 turbochargers, it produced 399bhp and a whopping 616 lb ft of torque.
