March 2023 Classic & Performance Car Auction

  Lot 67

1993 BMW 318iS
Only 15,000 miles from new

Registration - L332 LNH

Chassis No. - WBABE52030EK77374

M.O.T. - November 2023

Odometer - 15,200

E36 BMWs are a relatively rare sight these days, and we certainly can’t remember when we last saw the likes of ‘L332 LNH’, which is a genuine three-owner example that’s travelled just 15,328 miles from new – ie an average of just 511 miles per annum. It was supplied new by Wollaston Motors of Northampton to its first elderly keeper in September 1993, and still wears that dealer’s number plates to this day. He or she retained the car for no less than 25 years, the last six of which it spent in dry storage. The vendor acquired the BMW from the second owner in December 2202, since when he has treated it to the following replacements: spark plugs, drive belts, fuel pump, heater fan and bonnet badge. The most recent service was carried out at BMW Wilmslow in December 2021, which was followed by the renewal of the brake fluid in 2022. Finished in metallic burgundy and trimmed in grey check fabric, this remarkably original specimen is currently considered by the vendor to have excellent 1.8-litre engine, five-speed manual gearbox, paintwork and upholstery, and ‘excellent to good’ three-door bodywork. It is now being offered complete with sunroof, Blaupunkt Woodstock CD/radio, electric windows and mirrors, the original spare wheel and toolkit (both unused), first aid kit and glovebox torch, comprehensive history file containing the original bill of sale, invoices for the recently replaced parts, and a full MOT history, plus a current certificate valid to November 29.

The third generation of BMW’s chart-topping 3 Series range (the E36) was the first to be offered in hatchback guise as well as saloon, convertible, estate and coupe formats. It reigned from 1990 to 2000, at which point it was replaced by the E46 model.

In summary:

  • A remarkably original three-owner, 15,328-mile example
  • Recently treated to a selection of replacement parts
  • Comes with MOT history and a certificate valid to 29/11/23
