‘R305 PRW’ is a luxury saloon in classic British Racing Green with leather and suede interior in black and grey. It has a warranted mileage of 76,400 and a current MOT with no advisories. The car has had three previous keepers, one of whom owned it for 20 years. It has its original Jaguar documentation, a full main dealer service history to 2013 and that of independent specialists to 2019, and is an affordable entry into the world of Jaguar ownership.
As the Sport variant of the XJ (X308), ‘R305 PRW’ has matt black windscreen and window surrounds, a metallic grey radiator grille with vertical slats and body-coloured surround, dark wood interior trim, stiffer suspension and sportier seating than the base model XJ8. It is powered by a 3.2-litre V8 engine and five-speed automatic gearbox. The vendor advises us that the car is in good overall condition, has ‘good’ tyres all round (including the spare), and ‘average’ bodywork. It has a rear window blind and comes with three keys. This is a comfortable, practical modern classic that would be ideal for Jaguar club gatherings and tours.
The X308 series was an evolution of Jaguar’s iconic and enormously successful XJ model, and continued the embodiment of the marque’s tradition of ‘grace, space and pace’. Produced from 1997 to 2003, this was the last Jaguar sold in mass volume - 126,260 were built in total (including Daimler variants), of which just 1,108 were the Sport version.
