Relatively little is known about this colourful buggy, which was apparently purchased in connection with a Scottish beach project that failed to materialise. As a result, ‘WKL 963J has been dry stored for the last 12-plus years. It is a Volkswagen-based example that’s powered by a 1300cc VW engine. The blue and yellow fibreglass bodywork is teamed with yellow-piped blue interior trim, yellow Cosmic Racing seat belts and a stout yellow roll-over bar. The buggy rides on Mangels chrome wheels shod with meaty go-anywhere tyres and is being sold complete with stereo system, bucket seats and Mountney leather-rimmed steering wheel. A lot of fun per pound.

Our May auction of classic, modern classic and prestige cars and motorbikes will take place at Mavericks in Holywell, North Wales (half an hour’s drive from Chester).
There will be free parking for auction attendees.
