Spring 2021 Classics & Collectables Auction

  Lot 70

1975 Triumph TR6

Chassis No. - CR6683

Registration - KKH 457N

M.O.T. - EXEMPT

Odometer – 46,386

Now here’s a car to excite the TR6 fraternity – a righthand drive export model that was for many years the property of a Swiss-based British TR6 aficionado before being repatriated. It has been in its current ownership since 2017, but is now being sold for medical reasons. Finished in an attractive shade of metallic blue and trimmed in black vinyl, it was apparently supplied new with colour-keyed hard top and inertia reel seat belts, since when it has benefited from a number of other desirable fitments or upgrades. For example, it boasts a trio of 40DCOE Weber carburettors in place of the original Lucas fuel injection set-up, electronic ignition system, overdrive on third and fourth gears, Moto-Lita wood-rimmed steering wheel, and chromed wire road wheels. In addition to the handsome hard top it comes with a mohair hood, hood cover and tonneau. Also included in the specification are a chrome luggage rack, period wing mirrors and push-button radio, Heritage Certificate, comprehensive service history, handbook and service manuals. The recorded mileage is a notably low unwarranted but credible 46,386 kilometers – ie under 29,000 miles.

Described by the vendor as being in ‘excellent all-round condition’, the Triumph has recently benefited from the replacement of the fuel pump, radiator and battery and is being sold complete with a variety of spares, including the original steel wheels and tyres. Always garaged and driven only in the dry, ‘KKH 457N’ is a fine-looking car deserving of a suitably appreciative new keeper.

The TR6’s underpinnings were broadly as per the TR5, while the styling revisions were the work of Karmann. A total of 94,619 were produced, just 8,370 of which were home market examples.

In summary:

  • Very high specification including factory hard top
  • Notably low recorded mileage of 46,386 kilometers
  • Comes complete with numerous spare parts
