The vendor informs us that this rare coachbuilt Spyder has been in the current ownership for almost a decade, during which time it has seen long-term dry storage. Finished in red with contrasting lower grey panels and sitting on correct BBS alloy wheels, it retains the crisp, angular styling penned by Zagato. The interior is trimmed in cream leather with red piping, featuring the signature Maserati oval dashboard clock and period switchgear. Age-related wear is visible throughout the cabin, consistent with its time off the road.

Underbonnet, the twin-turbo V6 engine appears complete, and although it turns over, the vendor advises that the car will require full recommissioning before use, including belts. In particular, a replacement cam belt is strongly recommended before any attempt at running or driving. The car is offered as a non-runner, suitable for restoration or recommissioning.

Coachbuilt by Zagato and produced in limited numbers, the Spyder represents a distinctive chapter in the marque’s history. Its shortened wheelbase, turbocharged performance and hand-built character have made surviving examples increasingly sought after, capturing the essence of 1980s Italian GT styling and individuality.
