1969/1970 AJS Stormer

Having purchased this AJS as a restoration project, the vendor then had a change of heart and moved on to another task, creating a golden opportunity for another enthusiast. As can be seen, some of the work is complete and all the parts exist to bring the venture to a very satisfactory conclusion.
The history of the Stormer dates back to 1967, when there were rumours that AJS was developing an all-new two-stroke motorcycle with which to attack the international motocross scene. Within a year, Malcolm Davis had ridden a 250cc version to victory in the 1968 British Championship – not bad for a machine that hadn’t yet entered production! Manufacture of the 250cc Stormer commenced soon afterwards and the model continued on its winning way for many years. Indeed, examples are still competing to this day, spares for which remain readily obtainable.
'A Buyer’s Premium applies to the Hammer Price of this Lot if your bid is successful, as per the following; Motor Cars 12.5% + VAT (minimum £150 + VAT), Motorcycles and Bicycles 15% + VAT (minimum £100 + VAT); Registration Numbers 15% + VAT (minimum £50 + VAT); Automobilia 15% + VAT (minimum of £5 + VAT).'
