‘P872 XHT’ is a remarkably clean and tidy-looking example of Toyota’s fifth generation Hilux pickup truck. It is blessed with a double cab and four-wheel drive and has had just one owner from new – a council that accrued the recorded total of 103,290 miles over the last 24 years. It has benefited from a light restoration and respray and features white bodywork matched to grey cloth interior trim. Power comes from Toyota’s 2446cc four-cylinder inline diesel unit, that boasts 89bhp and 123 lb ft of torque, and is linked to a five-speed manual gearbox. By the very nature of their work, pickups quickly become bashed and bruised so it is rare to find one of this age in such good condition.
Toyota’s Hilux series of pickups dates back to 1968 and is currently in its eighth generation.
