Presented here is a highly original and enthusiast-owned example of the much-celebrated Ford Focus RS Mk I – a modern classic that continues to grow in stature among collectors. The vendor informs us this particular car has been owned by just three keepers from new and remains in desirable standard factory specification, free from the usual modifications that can detract from its originality.
Originally supplied by CD Bramall Ford on the 6th of March 2003, it was serviced by them and later Evans Halshaw up to 2010, with ongoing maintenance by respected specialists thereafter. A full history file accompanies the car, including the original book pack, Focus RS pamphlet, service book and a collection of supporting invoices. The service record includes main dealer stamps up to 45,198 miles, with further maintenance carried out and recorded since. Recent major work includes a full clutch replacement less than 700 miles ago, along with a complete timing belt kit and pulleys.
We are advised the car was listed as a Category S insurance loss in 2019. However, the Focus RS appears not to have suffered as a consequence, with the car presenting smartly and driving as it should.
Displaying just 65,963 miles and finished in the iconic Imperial Blue, this well-preserved Focus RS is offered with an MOT until April 2026 and represents the sort of low-owner, unmolested example increasingly sought after by marque enthusiasts.
Launched in 2002, the Focus RS Mk I was Ford’s return to hot hatch form. With a Cosworth-developed 2.0-litre turbocharged engine producing 212bhp, a Quaife limited-slip differential, and aggressive styling, it was an instant success among performance fans. With just 4,501 produced for the UK, it has fast become a modern classic.
