November 2022 Classics Auction

  Lot 76

1996 Ford Fiesta Classic
Only 18,000 miles

Registration - P366 DEW

Chassis No. - VS6BXXWPFBTG84375

M.O.T. - June 2023

Odometer - 18,150

Now here’s a little gem – a genuine 18,150-mile Fiesta that’s had just five owners in 26 years. Finished in white, trimmed in grey cloth and riding on black painted steel wheels, it even boasts the registration plates and rear window sticker of the supplying dealer – City Ford of Ely, Cambridgeshire. The vendor describes the interior as ‘exceptional’, the engine and five-speed manual transmission as ‘excellent’, and the three-door bodywork and paintwork as ‘good’. He is now offering this recently serviced, time warp Ford complete with brand new tyres, the original bill of sale for £7,110, Fiesta Classic brochure, handbook, a degree of service history and old MOTs that confirm the claimed mileage, plus a current MOT that’s valid to June 29 next year. If you’ve been hunting for an affordable, economical car to serve a university-bound son or daughter then ‘P366 DEW’ would surely fit the bill admirably.

Ford’s decision to cease production of its all-conquering Fiesta in June next year will only serve to enhance the values of the existing cars that consumers have relished since the model’s introduction way back in 1976. Currently in its seventh generation, the supermini has been a phenomenal success, with showroom versions frequently topping the sales charts and performance ones taking victory on the world rally stage. The Fiesta Classic was a budget derivative of the MKIII model produced from 1995 to 1997 and thereby initially manufactured in tandem with the incoming MKIV Fiesta. It was powered by a 1.1 litre version of the company’s four-cylinder HC S engine that produced 50bhp (sufficient output to propel the car to 60mph in 16.3 seconds) and offered in three or five-door configuration.

In summary:

  • Just 18,150 miles and five owners from new
  • A very well presented example with ‘exceptional’ interior
  • Comes with original bill of sale and MOT valid into June next year
