February 2022 Classics Auction

  Lot 8

2004 Mini Cooper S
Only 41,500 miles from new.

Registration - YS54 PLX

Chassis No. - WMWRE32060TK77223

M.O.T. - December 2022

Odometer - 41,500

This attractive R53 Cooper S is finished in the pleasing and rare colour of India Blue (purple to you and I), trimmed in grey/blue leather and rides on period correct alloy wheels shod with Pirelli P Zero tyres. The Mini has had three owners to date, who between them have amassed a relatively modest total of 41,406 miles from new. A new battery has been installed in recent times and the vendor presently classes the supercharged engine, six-speed manual gearbox and hatchback bodywork to be in ‘excellent’ order, and views the paintwork (there are apparently a few minor marks) and upholstery as ‘good’. He is now offering the car for sale complete with rare air condition system, zenon headlights, period stereo system with boot mounted 6-stack CD autochanger, a good selection of receipts and a current MOT valid until December 17.

The first generation of the BMW Mini was launched in time for the 2001 model year and only shortly after the discontinuation of the classic Mini that had enjoyed a 21-year reign. The Cooper S version was powered by a supercharged 1598cc derivative of the Brazilian-built Tritec engine, co-developed by BMW and Chrysler. The output was 161bhp – sufficient to power the car to 62mph in around 7.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 135mph.

In summary:

  • A good looking example in the rare colour of India Blue
  • Just three owners to date and a relatively low mileage of 41,406
  • Specification includes air condition, zenon lights and a CD autochanger
