September 2022 Classics Auction

  Lot 82

2007 Jaguar XK Convertible

Registration - BL07 RHE

Chassis No. - SAJAC44P985B20411

M.O.T. - November 2022

Odometer - 76,091

This very presentable XK has had a total of seven keepers, who’ve amassed a total of 76,091 miles between them. Finished in silver and trimmed in black hide, ‘BL07 RHE’ is felt by the vendor to have ‘excellent’ V8 engine and automatic transmission, and ‘good’ convertible bodywork, paintwork and upholstery. He summarises by saying ‘the car provides a smooth and enjoyable drive’. Its accompanying service book is stamped up to 73,040 miles, all bar two of which are courtesy of main dealers. The Jaguar also comes with its original book pack and a current MOT valid to November 24.

Known internally as the X150, the second and final iteration of Jaguar’s 2+2 XK model first appeared in three-door coupe guise at the 2005 Frankfurt Salon, with the two-door convertible derivative debuting the following year at the NAIAS motorshow in Detroit. Designed by Ian Callum, the newcomer was notable for its bonded and riveted aluminium monocoque chassis and all alloy bodywork. Power was provided by a 4.2-litre version of the company’s proven AJ34 V8 powerplant and transmitted to the rear wheels via a six-speed ZF automatic transmission. Though both wider and longer than the XK8 (X100) it replaced, it was a full 200 lb lighter – a welcome change that resulted in improvements to both the performance and fuel consumption. Design cues that deliberately evoked memories of Jaguar’s glorious past included the D-Type-esque nose and centrally-placed grille badge redolent of the immortal E-Type.

'A Buyer’s Premium applies to the Hammer Price of this Lot if your bid is successful, as per the following;  Motor Cars 12.5% + VAT (minimum £150 + VAT), Motorcycles and Bicycles 15% + VAT (minimum £100 + VAT); Registration Numbers 15% + VAT (minimum £50 + VAT); Automobilia 15% + VAT (minimum of £5 + VAT).'

Each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ as per the terms and conditions for the auction, buyers are asked to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out the service. Any disputes over descriptions will not be entertained.
