The Bolesworth Castle March 2024 Classic & Performance Car Auction

  Lot 83

2013 Ferrari California 30
***NO RESERVE*** The lighter and more powerful Limited Edition 30 with only 27,000 miles

Registration - W3 PYN

Chassis No. - ZFFTJ65C000192553

M.O.T. - April 2024

Odometer - 27,000

With its ingenious electric black gloss roof which can be erected or retracted in seconds, this Rosso Corsa California 30, which is offered at No Reserve, works beautifully as both a cabriolet and a ‘coupe’ – and looks just as good in either configuration. This head-turning, Pininfarina-designed Prancing Horse is made even more attractive by the Scuderia shields, quad sports exhaust, upgraded 20” five-spoke graphite alloy wheels, carbon ceramic brakes with Giallo yellow callipers and the gloss black aftermarket side skirts which match the roof. The 2+2 interior is equally appealing, with Crema Daytona leather seats in excellent order and accented by Rosso stitching, Rosso embroidered cavalinos on the headrests plus Giallo yellow rev counter and Rosso carpets. In 2019 the car was declared a Category S. It was expertly repaired using OEM Ferrari parts and sold to the current owner in 2020, who has loved owning it without any issues. He is now only selling the Ferrari as he is moving overseas. The W3 PYN cherished registration, valued at £1500, is included in the sale. Also included in the sale is an OEM Ferrari indoor car cover, OEM seat covers and OEM steering wheel cover. This beautiful motor car comes with full Ferrari main dealer service history and low miles. The vendor describes the 4297cc, 484bhp, 32-valve V8 engine and seven-speed semi-automatic transmission, both of which are derivatives from the award-winner Ferrari 458 engine and transmission, as ‘genius.’ The vendor adds that the electrics, paintwork, bodywork and interior are ‘excellent’ and that ‘everything works and there are no known faults.’

Announced in 2008 at the Paris Motor Show, the California was viewed as a highly useable Ferrari – an accolade which underlines how easy the model is to live with. With a 0-62mph time of 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 193mph, it was that most unexpected of beasts, with a circa £150,000-£200,000 price tag depending on factory options ticked. And buyers responded speedily – a three-year waiting list built up almost immediately. The naturally-aspirated California ushered in a number of ‘firsts’ – the first convertible with a retractable metal roof, Ferrari’s first front-engined V8-powered car and the first direct-injection power unit, and the first to sport a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. Ferrari brought in the Limited Edition California 30 from 2012-2014, making it a rare car. The name was derived from the fact that this new variant was 30hp more powerful and 30kg lighter than the original model. California 30 production ended in 2017 and was replaced by the California T.

In summary:

  • A stylish, high specification and very usable Ferrari, offered at No Reserve with cherished registration W3 PYN
  • Low mileage and low-keeper example
  • Full Ferrari main dealer service history supporting the declared low mileage
