Registration - CLH 807T
Chassis No. - 6028606
M.O.T. - Exempt
Odometer - 4,675
‘CLH 807T’ has had only three owners and covered just, wait for it, 4,675 miles from new! Evidently the first keeper amassed some 4,000 miles before parking it up, which is how it remained until 2005, when the BMW was acquired by his brother-in-law. He recommissioned it and converted the engine from 750 to 1,000cc, fitting new pistons and barrels and reworking the cylinder heads, as well as installing fresh cables, seat, tyres, oil, oil filter etc. The last MOT was issued in 2015 at 4,555 miles and the vendor acquired the bike two years later. He has had it repainted, the hubs re-powder coated, the wheels re-spoked and a new battery and electronic ignition system installed. He says the BMW may need some light recommissioning, but currently considers the transmission, bodywork and paintwork to be ‘excellent’, and the engine to be in ‘good’ order. A unique opportunity.
The R80/7 was produced in significant numbers between 1977 and 1984. A touring motorcycle capable of eating up the miles in comfort and safety, it prevented excessive buffeting of the rider via a meaningful fairing. The boxer engine is considered to be among the finest of all production motorcycle powerplants. That and the bike’s Germanic build quality explain why so many R80/7s remain in harness to this day.
'A Buyer’s Premium applies to the Hammer Price of this Lot if your bid is successful, as per the following; Motor Cars 12.5% + VAT (minimum £150 + VAT), Motorcycles and Bicycles 15% + VAT (minimum £100 + VAT); Registration Numbers 15% + VAT (minimum £50 + VAT); Automobilia 15% + VAT (minimum of £5 + VAT).'
Potential buyers should satisfy themselves with the description and condition of each lot prior to sale. Each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ as per the terms and conditions for the auction, buyers are asked to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out the service. Any disputes over descriptions will not be entertained.
