Yes, you’re right, ‘H253 VNH’ no longer bears any resemblance to a standard City E, and is quite simply the most eye-catching Mini we’ve encountered in a long while. Small wonder, as countless hours and no little money have been invested in creating this fabulous-looking little motorcar. The vendor purchased it in 2017 for £4,500, by which time it already boasted its amazing hydraulic flip front and had been fully stripped and resprayed from black to the current colour of Skoda Rallye Metallic Green. Much of the subsequent work was carried out for the vendor by renowned Mini specialists Mini Sport of Padiham, Lancashire, where the car spent many months of 2017, always travelling to and fro by transporter to avoid the long miles of motorway. The full list of standard replacement parts, upgrades and modifications is far too long to chronicle here, but some of the obvious highlights include: 8.4-inch vented brake kit with alloy calipers; Adjusta Ride rear suspension; twin box Superflow performance exhaust; green-piped Cobra Classic front seats with headrests; 13 inch John Cooper woodrim steering by Moto-Lita; burr walnut dashboard with glovebox inserts; burr walnut door cappings, front and rear; extended rear wheelarch covers; wide-rim alloy wheels shod with Yokohama tyres; and Aston chrome petrol cap. We could go on, but you get the idea, and won’t be surprised to learn that £10,000 was invested in the car in 2017 alone. The original speedometer displayed 66,357 miles and as just 223 have been driven since the conversion, it means the total to date stands at 66,580. No doubt with a tear in his eye the vendor is now offering the Mini for sale complete with massive history file containing the service history, receipts for work done, before and after photos, plus old MOTs and a current one valid into February next year.
