Finished in silver with a light grey leather interior, this E39-generation BMW 525i M Sport combines one of BMW’s most highly regarded chassis with the smooth 2.5-litre straight-six petrol engine and automatic transmission. The M Sport package brings the deeper body kit, M steering wheel, sports seats and 17-inch alloy wheels, giving the car much of the look and feel of its M5 big brother but with more modest running costs.
The cabin presents well for the age and mileage, with the characteristic E39 blend of solid build quality, wood trim and supportive seating, and the car is said to drive strongly with the typical refinement and balance for which these models are known. The E39 5-Series is widely considered one of BMW’s best all-rounders and good examples are increasingly sought after as usable modern classics.
