The fastest-selling Jaguar of all time, the F-Type entered ‘Supercar territory’ with the arrival of the SVR model, launched at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2016. This lighter, faster, and sharper iteration of the F-Type ‘R’ All-Wheel Drive retained the potent 5-litre supercharged V8, now producing 567bhp at 6,500rpm and 516lb/ft of torque at 3,500rpm. Power is delivered through an 8-speed automatic transmission and split-bias four-wheel drive system developed by Jaguar’s Special Vehicle Operations. The SVR accelerates from 0-62mph in under 3.5 seconds and boasts a genuine 200mph top speed. Its aerodynamic enhancements include a new front bumper, splitter, flat undercarriage, rear venturi, and an active rear wing that deploys at 70mph. The optional titanium and Inconel quad-pipe exhaust system, 16kg lighter than standard, produces a distinctive metallic bark when valves open at 2,500rpm, offering a choice between aggressive soundtrack and civilised cruising.
This 2017 model year (2016 registered) example is finished in arguably the most desirable colour combination of Ultra ‘Athena’ Blue with a contrasting ‘Ebony’ interior featuring cirrus stitching. The specification is extensive, including ST 7 trim, SVR badge set, lozenge-quilted leather with door panel accents, body-colour side sills, black trim, SVR performance seats, aluminium paddle shifts, panoramic fixed roof, carbon fibre rear spoiler, 20” gloss black Coriolis alloys, Meridian sound system, and much more.
With just 11,115 miles from new and two previous keepers, the vendor informs us this car has been cherished regardless of cost. It has received six services, four at main Jaguar agents and two by specialists, most recently in August 2024 less than 500 miles ago. Accompanied by full book packs, service records, both remote keys, and the cherished registration number included in the sale, this £116,000 new Jaguar SVR offers in our opinion one of the best engine and exhaust notes of any modern sports car, embodying Jaguar’s legendary mantra of ‘Grace, Space and Pace’.
